Kumbakonam’s Finest — A Living Temple in Your HomeElevate your home rituals with this premium, heavy-weight Ashtalakshmi Brass Kalash handcrafted by Sri Swaminathan & Co. in the heritage town of Kumbakonam. Forged from 100% pure solid brass, this sacred water pot features exquisite high-relief 3D carvings of the eight divine manifestations of Goddess Lakshmi, framed by traditional floral creepers and a rope-twist shoulder band drawn directly from the gopuram design language of Kumbakonam’s ancient temples. The ancient Agama Shastra prescribes the Kalash as a micro-cosmic representation of the entire universe — its round body the earth, its neck the atmosphere, its flared rim the heavens.
|
The Sacred Myth — Amrit, Samudra Manthan & the Eight LakshmisThe Bhagavata Purana describes the legendary Samudra Manthan — the churning of the cosmic milk ocean — during which Lord Dhanvantari emerged holding a divine pot filled with Amrit (the nectar of immortality), followed by Goddess Lakshmi herself, seated on a fully bloomed lotus. The Kalash is the direct physical embodiment of that cosmic vessel of Amrit. The outer walls depict all eight forms of the Ashtalakshmi: Adi Lakshmi — Dhana Lakshmi — Dhanya Lakshmi — Gaja Lakshmi — Santana Lakshmi — Dhairya Lakshmi — Vijaya Lakshmi — Vidya Lakshmi. Together they form an energetic shield that balances Vastu defects and dissolves financial blocks.

Craftsmanship Detail — Every Millimetre Tells a StoryThe Mahalakshmi arch panel at the centre is flanked by Lakshmi medallions on either side, all set within a dense bed of hand-engraved floral creepers. Above the deity band runs a lotus petal band — the sacred flower of Lakshmi — and above that, the signature rope-twist shoulder band that marks authentic Kumbakonam craftsmanship.
|
Ritual Uses — Varalakshmi Vratam, Kumbhabhishekam & Daily PujaHome Pooja & Vratam: The ultimate centrepiece for Varalakshmi Vratam, Diwali Lakshmi Puja, Navratri Ghatasthapana, and Griha Pravesh — fill with water, coins & mango leaves, top with coconut. Temple Festivals: Heavy-weight and built to traditional shastra standards, perfect for Thiruvizha processions and Kumbhabhishekam. Vastu Decor: Style as a luxury entryway centrepiece or float lotus blossoms in its wide rim.

Specifications, Care & Multi-Language Identity
The high-polish gold surface catches and reflects light from every angle — which is exactly what makes it glow so beautifully in your home, temple, or office. What you see on this page is the real product — photographed as it is, with no digital editing or AI enhancement. The Kalash you receive will look exactly as shown. |
Size Comparison — 14cm HeightThis is the 14cm height variant — the standard size for home mandir use. The wide flared rim (11cm diameter) allows generous flower floating and easy pouring during abhishekam. Compare with the 13cm variant for smaller mandirs or gifting.
