Garuda Panchaloha Statue 5.5 Inch — Sacred Vahana of Lord Vishnu

Crafted in the ancient Panchaloha tradition of Kumbakonam, this standing Garuda idol is a signature piece from Sri Swaminathan & Co — one of Tamil Nadu's most trusted names in sacred temple art.

Each statue is entirely handcrafted by master artisans using the sacred five-metal alloy — copper, zinc, iron, gold, and silver — following the same metallurgical canon used in consecrated temple idols for centuries. No two pieces are identical; each carries the subtle mark of the craftsman's hand.

Why Panchaloha?

Panchaloha (பஞ்சலோஹம்) is the sacred alloy prescribed in the Agama Shastra for divine idols. The presence of gold and silver — even in trace quantities — is believed to amplify the idol's spiritual potency, making it suitable for daily pooja, abhishekam, and all Vedic rituals just as performed in temples.

About This Garuda

  • Deity: Garuda — the divine eagle, vahana and devotee of Lord Vishnu
  • Pose: Anjali Mudra (Garudaseva) — hands joined in eternal namaskaram to Lord Vishnu, the rarest and most auspicious form
  • Significance: Garuda is the embodiment of speed, strength, and devotion; his presence in the pooja room is said to ward off negativity and invoke Vishnu’s grace
  • Nava Naga Ornamentation: This statue features nine sacred serpents (Nava Nagas) adorning Garuda’s body as ornaments — a rare iconographic detail signifying his supreme dominion over serpents (Nagantaka) and the transformative grace of Lord Vishnu that turns even adversaries into adornments
  • Ideal for: Ekadasi pooja, Vishnu worship, Vaikunta Ekadasi, home sanctum, and gifting
  • Size: 5.5 inches
  • Weight: Approx. 350 g
  • Material: Panchaloha — copper, zinc, iron, gold & silver alloy
  • Origin: Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu — the temple town of India

The Significance of Nava Nagas on Garuda

In Vaishnava iconography, Garuda wearing the nine Nagas (Nava Nagas) as body ornaments is a profound symbol. Though Garuda is the natural enemy of serpents, Lord Vishnu’s grace transforms this enmity into divine harmony — the Nagas become his adornments, not his prey. This rare detail on the statue reflects the Agamic precision of Kumbakonam craftsmen who follow temple-canon iconography to the letter. Placing such a Garuda in your home sanctum is believed to neutralise negative energies, remove obstacles (Naga dosha), and invite Vishnu’s protective blessings.

Bring Temple Energy Home

Placing a consecrated Panchaloha Garuda in your pooja room creates the same positive vibration as a temple sanctum. The idol can be energised (pranapratishtha) by a qualified priest and used for daily archana, deepa aradhana, and festival rituals.
