Kumbakonam Brass 17cm Urli – Sacred Floating Flower Vessel

अष्टलक्ष्मी पीतल उरली | Ashtalakshmi Pittala Uruli | அஷ்டலட்சுமி பித்தளை உருளி | అష్టలక్ష్మీ ఇత్తడి ఉరులి

Kumbakonam Brass Urli 17cm Vaishnava Angled Side View Vishnu Namam Shankha Chakra Engraving Elephant Head Lifting Hook Ring Handle

An Active Environmental Filter — Not Just a Decor Piece

Handcrafted with generational mastery by Sri Swaminathan & Co. in the ancient metal-casting hub of Kumbakonam, this heavy-weight 17cm brass Urli acts as an active environmental filter. In our Vedic heritage, filling a wide brass basin with water and fresh flowers replicates the Samudra Manthan, turning your home entryway or mandir into a landing pad for universal life-force energy (Prana). Choose between two masterfully sculpted design variants.

✦ Active Prana filter — Samudra Manthan principle

✦ 17cm diameter × 9cm height — heavy solid brass

✦ Guardian elephant-head handles — both variants

✦ Handcrafted by Sri Swaminathan & Co., Kumbakonam

Variant 2 — Vaishnava: Namam, Shankha & Chakra with Elephant Hook Handles

The body of this Urli is engraved with the sacred Vishnu Namam (Urdhva Pundra — the divine mark of Lord Venkateswara), flanked by the Shankha (Conch) and Chakra (Discus) of Lord Vishnu, set within traditional floral vine engravings. The interior base carries the Ashtamangala symbols in full relief. The side handles feature elephant heads holding free-moving brass lifting hooks/rings in their trunks — allowing the vessel to be carried ceremonially during processions.

Best for Vaishnava households, Tirupati devotees, and those seeking the protective energy of Lord Vishnu’s divine weapons in their home space.

Variant 1 — Ashtalakshmi: 3D Goddess Medallions with Solid Elephant-Head Handles

The outer bowl features high-relief 3D icons of the Ashtalakshmi — the eight divine forms of Goddess Lakshmi — nestled inside individual floral arch alcoves. Solid sculpted elephant-head handles flank the bowl on both sides. Best for invoking Sthira Lakshmi — permanent, unshakeable household wealth. The guardian elephants mimic the cosmic Diggajas that bathe the goddess, ensuring financial security and family peace.

Three Sacred Uses — Vastu, Festival & Prasad

Entryway Vastu Shield: Open water + elephant guardians filter negative energy at your threshold before it enters your family space. Festival Centrepiece: Float marigolds, roses, lotus & oil diyas for Diwali Lakshmi Puja, Varalakshmi Vratam, Navratri & Griha Pravesh. Prasad Offering Pot: Display fresh temple fruits, dry fruits & sacred offerings at the feet of your deities.

Craftsmanship — The Ashtalakshmi Arch Alcove

Each Mahalakshmi figure is set within a deep-set arch alcove — drawn from the sanctum sanctorum niches of Kumbakonam’s ancient temples. Fully sculpted with crown, jewellery, four arms & mudra details visible to the naked eye. Above the deity zone runs a lotus petal band, and the base carries a radiant lotus petal skirt.

✦ Lotus petal band above deity zone

✦ Lotus petal skirt at base

Base Detail & Care

The base features a diamond-weave centre surrounded by radiating lotus petal bands, with elephant-head handles anchoring the vessel from below. Rinse after each flower display to prevent mineral rings. Clean with lemon juice, tamarind paste, or Pitambari powder. Avoid wire scrubbers near 3D deity profiles and line engravings.

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand this completely. You are buying online from a shop you have never visited. Here is the truth: Sri Swaminathan & Co has been standing at 61, Bakthapuri Street, Kumbakonam since 1973 — over 53 years. We are not a warehouse or a reseller. We are a family shop, rooted in Kumbakonam, where priests, temples, and devotees from across Tamil Nadu have been coming for generations. Travellers from Singapore, Malaysia, UK, and USA visit us when they come to Kumbakonam — because they know us. You can walk into our shop any day. We are real.
Because most sites sell products. We sell legacy. Every item in our shop — whether it is a small brass lamp or a 4-foot Panchaloha idol — comes from craftsmen whose families have been doing this since the Chola period. We do not source from factories. We do not compromise on material or finish to reduce price. When you buy from us, you are not just getting a product — you are getting 53 years of trust, traditional craftsmanship, and the assurance that what you receive is exactly what a devotee deserves.
This is a fair concern and we respect it. Here is why we do not offer COD — our products are handcrafted, fragile, and carefully packed for safe delivery. COD returns damage both the product and the trust. Instead, we offer something better: WhatsApp us before you order. We will send you a video of the actual product — the exact piece you will receive. You can ask us anything. Only when you are fully satisfied, you pay. Our 53-year reputation is our guarantee — we cannot afford to let even one customer down.
Not at all — and we are glad you asked this. Our products are made of brass and Panchaloha — metals that naturally catch and reflect light from every angle. What you see as dark shades or bright reflections in photos is simply the metal doing what metal does — glowing, reflecting, and shining. We photograph every product as-is, with no filters, no AI, no editing. That reflection you see in the photo? You will see the same beautiful glow when it sits in your pooja room. It is not a defect — it is the character of real metal.
Yes — and here is why we say this with full confidence. Panchaloha idols require the right alloy, the right casting method, and the right finishing — done by craftsmen who understand the spiritual significance of what they are making. Our Panchaloha idols are hand-cast in Kumbakonam and Swamimalai by hereditary artisans using the traditional lost-wax method — the same method used to make idols for consecrated temples across South India. Priests trust our idols for temple installation. Families trust us for home pooja rooms. In 53 years, that trust has never been broken.
