Kumbakonam Brass Two-Tier Camphor Arati Stand
Pure Solid Brass · Extra Disc Plate · Two Sizes
This unique two-tier camphor (soodam) arati stand is made by Sri Swaminathan & Co, carrying our family shop legacy since 1973 from Kumbakonam. It is designed for homes and temples where prayer rituals and detailed aartis take place.
We do not use any computer graphics or fake AI adjustments. The picture you see on this page is a 100% real product photo of the genuine brass item sitting in our shop setup.
The stand is made fully out of premium quality heavy solid brass metal with an arching handle design. The handle offers a grip away from the burning cup. Brass conducts heat, however, and the handle can become hot during use.
The top features a central 3 cm Soodam Kumizh to burn your camphor. Right beneath this cup is an extra wide brass disc plate, creating the distinctive two-tier arrangement. Two sturdy cone-shaped brass feet support the stand. Place it on a level, stable, heat-resistant surface during use.
The Extra Disc: Preparation Space & an Additional Barrier
The lower brass disc provides a convenient area for arranging spare camphor before lighting and forms an additional physical barrier beneath the burning cup. It keeps the preparation area separate from the upper Soodam Kumizh.

Care & Maintenance
Made from super fine quality brass with a golden powder coated polish — gives a satin gold glow like a gold statue. Purely for decor and dry display. If used for pooja rituals, the golden polish layer will peel off over time. Keep it dry — and it will look as fresh as the day you bought it. Always.
No restrictions for pooja rituals. Avoid harsh chemicals to preserve its traditional antique look. The dark patina is intentional — it deepens the beauty over time.
Powerful. Preferred for active pooja rituals — no restrictions. Traditional Cleaning Method: Use dara liquid and cashew nut seeds — an ancient method used by temple priests for generations. Gently rub with cashew nut seeds dipped in dara liquid. Rinse clean. Your idol will look brand new. Cleaning once every 30 days is recommended if used regularly for pooja.
