Sri Swaminathan & Co · Sacred Sculpture
🕉️🔱 Om Namah Shivaya · Hara Hara Mahadeva 🔱🕉️
— Solid Cast Brass · Antique Look Finish · Seven-Hooded Adisesha · 20 cm (7.9 Inch) —
He who is beyond form, yet chosen to rest within it. This rare, two-piece solid brass Shiva Lingam — sheltered beneath a majestic seven-hooded Adisesha serpent canopy — is one of the most spiritually potent and visually commanding sacred assemblies we carry at Sri Swaminathan & Co. Cast in thick, heavy-duty brass and finished with a beautiful antique temple patina, it is built not just for display, but for a lifetime of daily worship.
The Lingam is independent. The serpent canopy lifts away completely. Two pieces. One sacred assembly. Endless ritual possibilities.
The Significance
| Shiva Lingam | The formless infinite — pure cosmic consciousness, absolute protection, and the dissolving of all karmic obstacles |
| Seven-Hooded Adisesha | The primordial serpent of eternity — shields the Lingam from above, representing the seven dimensions of cosmic protection |
| Sacred Tilak Engraving | Tripundra and third-eye mark etched on the Lingam face — a precise focal point for daily dhyana and japa |
Auspicious Days for Worship & Gifting
Maha Shivaratri — The supreme annual night of Lord Shiva. Placing and honouring this heavy brass Lingam on this night invites immense protective vibrations into the home for the entire year ahead.
Pradosham Vratam — Worshipped twice every lunar month during twilight hours of the 13th day, dissolving past karmas and restoring family peace and health.
Shravan Month & Somvar (Mondays) — The holy monsoon month of Mahadev, where daily prayers at this brass assembly bring continuous prosperity, protection, and wellbeing to the entire household.
Material, Quality & Craftsmanship
Poured as thick, 100% genuine solid brass metal, the full assembly weighs a commanding 1.960 kg — exceptionally heavy for its size, completely unbreakable, and entirely temple-grade in its feel and presence.
The antique finish treatment deepens the dark shaded areas within the fine scale lines of the serpent hoods, making the raised golden brass features emerge with clean, aged realism — the characteristic look of a centuries-old temple treasure.
The intricate repeating scale carvings across the massive serpent hood — crisp on both faces — showcase traditional South Indian metal-art mastery that endures for generations.

Care & Maintenance
Simple Dusting: Clean gently once a week using a soft, dry microfiber cloth or a small dry paintbrush to clear dust from the fine snake scales and base layers without disturbing the antique shading.
Washing During Ritual: If washing with water during active pooja, avoid rough steel wool or abrasive scrubbing — these can scratch away the beautiful dark antique finish.
Drying: Always wipe completely dry with a clean towel immediately after washing to prevent white mineral water spots from forming on the polished brass surfaces.
What you see on this page is the real product — photographed as it is, with no digital editing or AI enhancement. The idol you receive will look exactly as shown.
Directly sourced from our historical workshop to your sacred space,
crafted with five generations of uncompromised devotion.
Care & Maintenance
Made from super fine quality brass with a golden powder coated polish — gives a satin gold glow like a gold statue. Purely for decor and dry display. If used for pooja rituals, the golden polish layer will peel off over time. Keep it dry — and it will look as fresh as the day you bought it. Always.
No restrictions for pooja rituals. Avoid harsh chemicals to preserve its traditional antique look. The dark patina is intentional — it deepens the beauty over time.
Powerful. Preferred for active pooja rituals — no restrictions. Traditional Cleaning Method: Use dara liquid and cashew nut seeds — an ancient method used by temple priests for generations. Gently rub with cashew nut seeds dipped in dara liquid. Rinse clean. Your idol will look brand new. Cleaning once every 30 days is recommended if used regularly for pooja.
