Her Scriptural Appearance

The Lalitha Sahasranama and Soundarya Lahari describe her as a youthful woman of radiant red-golden complexion — the colour of the rising sun, red hibiscus, and molten gold combined. She wears a tall, jewelled royal crown (Kirita Mukuta), adorned with the crescent moon. Her face is a full moon of grace, her eyes like twin lotus petals, her lips as red as bimba fruit. Long, dark, fragrant hair flows elegantly over her shoulders. She is dressed in a rich silk saree with full traditional jewellery — necklaces, armlets, anklets, and sacred thread — and garlanded with fragrant flowers. She is backed by a brilliant sunburst halo, for even Lord Surya bows in her presence.
