Because this solid piece features an intentional antique finish with glossy highlights, it requires very simple care to look pristine:

• Dismantle and Wash — Twist the pieces apart. Gently wash the oil basin and finial using your regular dish soap and a soft sponge. Never use steel wool or harsh wire scrubbers, as they will scratch the fine carvings.
• Restoring the Golden Glow — Rub a small amount of fresh tamarind paste or fresh lemon juice mixed with fine salt over the inner and outer surface. The natural fruit acid will instantly dissolve dark soot spots and bring back the rich golden look.
• Wipe Completely Dry — Always wipe the brass pieces completely dry with a soft towel immediately after rinsing before screwing them back together, so that trapped water drops do not leave spots inside the thread lines.
